Stanley R. Buckmir

Stanley “Bucky” Buckmir, age 84 (I know I lied about my age to my buddies, surprise!), one of eleven, of Fairfield, passed away in his home on September 4, 2018. Born in Bridgeport, Stan was a lifelong area resident. Stan worked for Hidu doing printing and camera work from 1963-1968 until he later opened up his own company, Fairfield Graphics, in 1970. After 45 years of success, Stan retired from his business in 2015. He was an avid golfer with five holes in one and was a member of several country clubs including Hillandale Country Club (72-75), Grassy Hill Country Club (75-87), and Oronoque Country Club (87-17). Stan is survived by his son Brian and daughter in law Mariana; his grandchildren Dana (Brett’s daughter), Isabela (Brian’s daughter), and Lucas (Brian’s son); his sisters Rose and Anne, and his brother Joseph; his various nieces and nephews; and many golfing buddies. He is predeceased by his son Brett and his brothers Michael, Victor (who was like a father to him), George, Nicholas, John, Stephen and his sister Marge. A funeral mass for Stan will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Fairfield on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM. For information or to sign an online register, please visit

  1. We had some good times Bucky. It was an honor to know and play golf with you. One of my best memories was you winning the Post Office Annual Golf Tournament in our foursome. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

  2. Bucky:…my old friend, my classmate, my teammate,..for so long, third baseman, to his old friend Mike Cataldi at short..,..those were the best days. Sorry never got together for golf after talking so much about playing when we met on the street. Will miss you Buck,… RIP

  3. Bucky-you will be missed by all your golf buddies at Oronoque. Over 20 years ago you were my “A” player in my 1st Oronoque scramble event. I was your “D” player but you inspired confidence and I will always remember that day. Thanks for the memories!

  4. I miss you so much! I still can’t believe I’m not going to see you again or talk with you on the phone. I’m glad we had the time we did, but like anything in life, it’s never enough. Hope you and Dad are having some laughs and cooking up a great meal. Love you both!
