Dolores Ethel (Hilbert) O'Connor

Dolores Ethel (nee Hilbert) O’Connor, beloved wife of the late James Joseph O’Connor, passed peacefully on March 9, 2024.  Born and raised in New York, NY, she and Jim moved to Queens, NY, to raise their family and then retired to Milford, CT where they could watch their grandchildren grow.  It was there that she was able to sit and read romance novels on the back patio. She also loved to travel to Nags Head, NC with her husband James.  She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Hansen (Glenn) of Fairfield, CT, son John O’Connor (Tracy) of St. Petersburg, FL and daughter, Marianne Barfield (Martin) of Floral Park, NY.  She was blessed with seven grandchildren:  John, Meredith, and James Hansen, Herrick and Christopher O’Connor, Kelli and Connor Quail and three great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Saoirse O’Connor and Fernando James Afan de Ribera Hansen.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Thomas Aquinas Church on Wednesday April 10, 2024 at 10:30 a.m.  Interment will be held Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at the State Veteran’s Cemetery, Middletown, CT.
