Peggy Lee Caulfield

Peggy Lee Caulfield (nee Tyer), of Fairfield, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the age of 89. Peg was the eldest of three children born to the late James H. Tyer and Margaret (Lee) Tyer. She is survived by her brother, Dr. James Tyer and his deceased wife, Lucille and her sister Mary Lou Howard and her husband Jonathan. Predeceased by her former husband, Donald J. Caulfield, together they raised five children; Christopher Caulfield of Cocoa Beach, FL, Cathleen Caulfield of Fairfield, Donald ( D.J.) Caulfield and his wife Cindy of Milford, Donna Santabarbara and her husband Philip of Norfolk, MA, and Kevin Caulfield who passed away in 1993. She is also survived by grandchildren, Joshua, Jason, Ryan Caulfield, Julia Ficco, Gregg Santabarbara, Daniel and Matthew Caulfield; great-grandchildren, Anthony and Carter Ficco and Taryn Caulfield. Peg was raised in Bridgeport and attended Central High School and the Pratt Institute in New York. She settled in Fairfield where she raised her five children. Peg returned to work in the art field until she decided to pursue a career in computer programming. She remained in that field until her retirement. Peg was a voracious reader, avid crossword puzzler and jig saw master! She greatly enjoyed her travels to Europe with her daughter Cathy. A memorial Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Eugene Szantyr on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 149 South Pine Creek Road, Fairfield. Interment will be private in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Friends may greet the family Friday from 5-7 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.   1. What wonderful and fun memories I have of my aunt to get me through this loss. I can not remember ever having an angry word with her through my entire life. I am sad to not have you in my life any longer but glad you are at peace. Say HI to Nana, Gramps, Kevin and Luc for me.

  3. I met the Tyer-Caulfield-Howard family in the late 1950s through my sister Lucille who married into the family. Many family gatherings had given me fond memories. It is very hard to lose a close family member and my prayers and thoughts are with the family.

My condolences to the family Cathleen Caulfield, Donna caulfield, Deejay caulfield other relatives and friends it was a pleasure to be apart of peg as her caregiver she makes me laugh everyday about something different few things to describe peg is that she loves to read, listen to music, sing and dance ect there is never a dull moment with her and the list goes on… peg one thing for sure you will never be forgotten and you will always be in my thoughts and prayers may your soul Rest In Peace take your beautiful rest you have play your part and left all of us that you have spent a great time with only memories that we can live on with!!
