Austin Henry Scruton

God welcomed home his newest angel, Austin Henry Scruton, on Monday, January 21, 2019. Austin was born December 14, 2018 the beloved son of Brian and Lindsie McLean Scruton. Although his time on earth was short, he was a miracle that will last forever. His blue eyes shone with God’s light, and his loving smile inspired and brightened every moment he spent with his family. His parents will never forget the sweet sounds he made and the pure joy he brought into their lives. In addition to his loving parents, he will be sadly missed by his adoring big brother, Colin Daniel Scruton; his beloved grandparents, Daniel and Linda McLean of Cheshire, H. Kent and Irene Scruton of Syracuse, NY; great-grandparents, William and Joan McGirr, Sandra Randall, Paul McLean and Jane Galgan; his adoring aunts and uncles, Kacie McLean-Strobel and her husband Kris, Erin McLean and Anna McLean. He will be held by his great grandfather Henry Galgan and Grandma Fluffy until his parents are returned to him in Heaven. A private Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Pius Church in Fairfield. Austin was laid to rest in Oak Lawn Cemetery. To offer an online condolence please visit www.SpearFuneralHome.com

  1. I can’t even imagine your pain but I send my deepest prayers and condolences to you all,may your beautiful baby boy rest in peace 😢🙏💔😞❤️

  2. I lived and worked in Fairfield, serving 32 years in the Fairfield Fire Department. Retired in 1998. Now living in South Carolina.

My heart was broken reading the Facebook Posting announcing the passing of Austin. My sadness is only tempered by the sureness of my belief that he, as an innocent, now resides in Heaven very, very close to the Throne of Our Lord. Although I never knew him, or his family I will with the confidence of my Faith pray that the intentions of my spiritual requests are brought to our Lord by Austin.

    May God Bless You

  3. I’m so sorry for your loss and understand what you may be feeling. I lost a son at 23 days old in 2012. I happen to be a therapist in Fairfield and have since specialized in the loss of a child. Call me at 917-613-2271 if you would like support during this time. I’m happy to help. Sending love and light your way…

  4. Lindsie and family,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I wish you a strong heart and the love of your family during this difficult time. Please know that I am praying for you and your sweet angel.

  5. Reading this obituary brought tears to my eyes. May the good Lord help to comfort you in these difficult times.

  6. I, too, am a member of your Parish. I would like to extend my deepest condolences. Wishing Austin Godspeed.

  7. Reading the obituary in the Patch of my old community made me truly heartsick at the pain you, as parents, must be going through. Although I don’t know you, I did lose a sister in childhood and I can only imagine what Colin must be dealing with as well. My heart goes out to the three of you and I pray God might comfort you by sending you signs that Austin is only knowing love and peace now. You are in my prayers.
