Anthony D. Pellegrino

Anthony D. Pellegrino, age 88, of Weston, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018 surrounded by his family. Anthony was born August 26, 1930, the son of the late Attilio and Josephine Pellegrino and was raised in Bridgeport. He graduated from Fairfield Prep, class of 1948 and from Georgia Tech, class of 1953. Enrolled in R.O.T.C., he served in the U.S. Air Force at Lackland AFB in Texas and was awarded the Korean Service Medal, U.N. Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

He was married to his wife, Nina Verrilli Pellegrino in 1962 and had two daughters, Anne Frances Pellegrino and Dana Gioia Pellegrino-Heath, and their late son, Matthew Anthony. He was the proud grandfather of Olivia Heath, daughter of Dana and Troy Heath. He is survived by a family of loving nieces and nephews and cousins.
Anthony worked with his father in their family owned business, Liberty Auto & Electric Company, becoming President and CEO until his retirement. He was highly respected in his field and dedicated his life to successfully running the company his father founded in 1919.

He was a member of the Latin Scholars at Fairfield Prep, and a longstanding member of the Y’s Men's Hoot Owls Glee Club. His greatest joy was his family and spending happy summers at his Lake Candlewood home. Anthony will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

  1. Nina & the entire family …

True friends are the ones who never leave your heart, even if they leave your life for a while. Even after years apart, you pick up with them right where you left off, and even if they die they’re never dead in your heart.

Tony was a stand up guy who would always be there if you needed a helping hand … that was his strength, along with your wonderful family … he will be sorely missed and admired.

    All our love,
