Wendy Yelen

Wendy Yelen, born in England in 1935, later moved to New York in 1956 to pursue a career in acting off Broadway and to attend Tish acting classes at NYU. She met and fell in love with her husband of 40 years, a Frenchman, Jacques Yelen. Together they raised two daughters in Pleasantville, NY and ran a successful medical laboratory in NYC. They later spent a decade living and playing in the USVI. As a widow Wendy came to Fairfield to live on the property with the two new loves of her life, her granddaughters, Sophie and Phoebe. Wendy, a masterful gardener, loved and cared deeply for the environment and her amazing gardens. She is survived by her sisters, Dilys and Valerie and brother Anthony, daughters Amanda and Kate, and grandchildren Sophie and Phoebe.
