Peter A. Martin (Mario)

Peter Martin (Mario), age 62 of Fairfield passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 21, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Peter created a successful career as a master builder, photographer and artist, after completing his Masters in Business Administration from McGill University in 1980. Peter’s joy was in being outdoors and reaching the extraordinary goals he set for himself, including bicycling from Fairfield to California, once while at Andrew Warde High, then again in university. In later years, he enriched the lives of clients all around New England with his exquisite portrait and landscape photographs, imbuing everything he touched with great beauty. Most of all, Peter will be remembered as a man of the highest integrity whose motto was, “Character is Destiny”. A wake for Peter will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home at 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. All are invited to a Mass celebrating Peter to be held at St. Pius Church at 834 Brookside Drive at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2019. Peter is survived by his siblings Jack, Janice and Joe Mario and Anne Hoffman. We will forever miss him.

  5. Anne,
I’m sorry to hear that Peter passed away last summer. While I only really knew Peter that year in Montreal, we certainly had many great conversation in the filled apartment we all shared. I still fondly remember his black-guitar playing in the front bedroom room at Lorne-Crescent, our little dead-end apartment ; that saturday afternoon when myself, Peter and a couple other like-minded muscians to a recording studio and recorded Southern Man. What a fun. I’m sure you and the rest of your family miss him; my condolences.
Also, I want to encourage you to get in touch with the McGill News, I receive the magazine every month. They publish memorial to past mcgill graduates. It would be a nice thing, I think. Anyway, Peace.
