  1. My daughter Vanessa and I were blessed to have such a wonderful woman in our lives. Our lack of close blood family could have resulted in a terrible void in our lives. But Maureen filled that void for us. She taught me what it felt like to have a sister. She taught Vanessa what it felt like to have “the other mother” in our lives. To tell you that she was a special person, is a great understatement. She was small in stature, but larger than life in her love for us, and for everyone lucky enough to be related to her, or to be honored as her friend.

Grief is the price we pay for love . . . and Maureen was greatly loved. To know her was to love her.
