Margaret Martinsky

Margaret Martinsky, age 102, of Fairfield, passed on in her sleep Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Margaret had lived in her Riverside Drive home in Fairfield for 79 years. She lost her husband William P. Martinsky, Sr. in 1984 only a few months short of what would have been 50 years of marriage. Margaret had three sons, William Martinsky, Jr., Daniel Martinsky (both predeceased) and Roy Martin(sky). Margaret was born in Hungary on November 24, 1914 and her family moved to Pennsylvania when she was just a very young girl. She would remain in Pennsylvania through her childhood years after which she moved to Connecticut where she would spend the rest of her life.

Margaret had seven grandchildren: John Martinsky of Bridgeport, Laurel Martinsky of Santa Barbara, CA, Patricia Martinsky (predeceased), William Martinsky of Milford, Thomas Martinsky of Stratford, Allison Martinsky Cain of Middletown, NY and Eileen Martinsky Vacca of Trumbull.

Margaret was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness over 45 years ago and had been very active as a Witness much of that time. Her funeral talk will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield and will be given by Brother Michael Parrella of the Greenfield Hill Kingdom Hall which will reflect Margaret’s years of service and devotion to both her family and as a Witness. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield. Pallbearers will include grandchildren John, William and Thomas Martinsky as well as great-grandchildren Michael and Bill Martinsky. The family will receive friends Friday from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home. For information or to offer an online guest register please visit www.SpearMillerFuneralHome.com

  1. To the family of Ms. Margaret, my sincere condolences for the loss of your loved one. As you cope with your loss, may you find comfort in knowing that God promises to put an end to all the things that have plagued mankind for centuries including death (Revelation 21:3,4). May you find peace in knowing that your dear one is safe in the memory of God, who will remember every detail about them and bring them back again (Job 14:13,15). May these words from God’s word, the Bible give you comfort now and strong hope for the future. Deepest sympathy.
