  5. So sorry to hear about Joan. Your mom was a very dear friend. She first knew my mom and my son, Dustin, from Friendly’s. Not too long after, I began teaching and working with Joan at McKinley. She was wonderful, always encouraging and caring. She kept me laughing and would be ready to go above and beyond her duties. We had many great years together. It took me a few years to keep track of all of her children and grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She was a role model as a teacher, parent, wife, and now grandparent. Joan has touched so many lives and we are fortunate to have had her in our life. She will be missed. Much ❤️ to the family, Karen

  6. Joan was a treasure and such an integral part of the McKinley School family. She was warm and fun and always so caring with all of the precious children she helped guide along the way. I remember her also as a very supportive Mom at Grasmere School, where I was a new fifth grade teacher and she was welcoming and ready to help…always with a beautiful smile! Thinking of her, and your family, at this sad time.
