Dante Bonetti Obituary

Dante Bonetti, age 100, of Fairfield, CT., passed away peacefully on September 15, 2017 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, CT.. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 76 years, Patricia (Daino) Bonetti.

He was a U.S.Army veteran of WWII, having served in the South Pacific. He was also a charter member of the 192nd Field Artillery Battalion Association, where he enjoyed many annual reunions with his Army ‘buddies'. Dante was a self employed excavating contractor for most of his life. Prior to his retirement, he worked several years for Mohican Valley Corporation of Fairfield, CT.

Dante was known as a very kind, gentle, and quiet person who never raised his voice, or lost his temper. He was a wonderful role model for his children and grandchildren. He and his devoted wife were inseparable and could be seen holding hands, and sneaking a kiss, even after 75 years of marriage. Their's was a true love story.

He is survived by a daughter and son, Nancy Hynes and her husband Philip, of Newtown CT, and Kenneth Bonetti and his wife, Elene, of Stratford, CT. He is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Philip Hynes and his wife, Kristin of Shelton, CT, Jill Penry and her husband, Vin, of Newtown, CT, Dara Cates, and her husband, Dale, of Ansonia,CT, and Robert Bonetti and his wife Jaime, of Stratford, CT. He was a fun loving grandpa to his seven great grandchildren, Philip (Quint), Anna, and Katie Hynes, AJ and Aiden Stinson, Natalia Cates, and Tanner Bonetti. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Dante was predeceased by two brothers, Mario and Orlando Bonetti, and two sisters, Olga Ballerini and Atilia Bouchard.

Friends and family are invited to attend Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Rd, Fairfield, CT. on Wednesday, September 27, at 10:00, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield, CT.
