  1. Always a dear, sweet friend. She will be sorely missed by so many.
Much love to the entire family.
    Pat and Bill

  2. Farewell, dear Cary, a gentler, more supportive friend, than one could ever ask for. We shared much laughter (and tears) over the many years of our friendship. Our travels to Prague and Berlin last year was a joy. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and Jen and the entire family. Much love, Aunt Lynne

  3. Auntie Cary will be missed. I will always hear her laugh when I think of her and see that ever-present twinkle in her eye when I think of her face. Since she came into my life, she has never missed a single milestone…birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, childbirth followed by children’s birthdays…always a card and a kindness from Auntie C. I love her very much and mourn for J and A and the whole family. Sending so much love and prayers!

  4. Jennifer and Amanda, I’m heartbroken to read this news of your mom’s passing. What a wonderful woman she was. I remember your home fondly, always warm and welcoming when we were very young. So many nice memories with all of you. In recent years when I was thankful to connect with her again, she was always willing to carry on a conversation with me no matter where we were – I recently ran into her at Trader Joe’s and she carried on about you two and her grandchildren of course and I was thrilled to hear all about what was going on, having not seen either of you in quite some time. I hope that we can connect again very soon. With love and sympathy, Amy Hios

  5. Rest In Peace, beautiful lady, friend, mother, grandmother. Always a lovely smile for everyone. Blessings and condolences to Jen and Amanda and families.

  6. Always a dear, sweet friend. She will be sorely missed by so many. Much love to the entire family.
    Bill and Pat

  7. What a lovely and interesting woman Cary was. I was fortunate to have met her and hear her fascinating travel stories. She inspires me to live a life full of travel and experiences throughout my older years. My heart aches for you Jen and Amanda. Cherish her memories and she will be with you forever. Sending love, hugs and strength. Xoxo

  8. Cary was a very special and long-time friend. We started our friendship in the 1950s in Nutley, went to high school together and then college and stayed good friends from that time until now. Cary, with Tim, and I, with Frank, spent time on boats and with our daughters, her lovely Jennifer and Amanda, and my Nina, Liz and Eve. And, then, it was just Cary and me and the Douglass crowd and others we came to know and cherish. I miss her. I miss her presence on the earth.

I offer the words of the poet, Ruth Whitman, for Jen and Amanda:

    If My Boundary Stops Here

    If my boundary stops here
I have daughters to draw new maps on the world
They will draw the lines of my face
They will draw gestures with my voice
They will speak my words thinking they had invented them
    They will invent them
    They will invent me

I will be planted again and again
I will wake in the eyes of my chirldren’s children
    They will speak my words

  9. Farewell Cary as you join Tim, Doug & Greg.
We fondly remember Cary as a very special person. Among her many interests and achievements, she was very supportive in uniting a number of families that had not been in touch for years. Special occasions in Fairfeild and extended family gatherings on Cape Cod.
Thank you Cary for being that person, it met so much to many people.

  10. Jennifer and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. Your mom will be missed by many but will be kept alive through all the fond memories and stories shared by all that love her. xo Kim

  11. Sleep gently, sleep well, Cary. What wonderful family fun we had over the years. Thank
you for reuniting us all, and for taking such good care of Tim for so many years.
Jen and Amanda have all of our love.
Your memory is forever in our hearts
